Ok I normally download the custom dell esxi iso from dell website. I'd like to add the dell openamange vib into the Iso. I have seen ideas on how to create a custom Iso, In this case when I do the getimageprofile from power cli. Nothing is returned. I followed this article: VMware Knowledge Base. VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) Offline Bundle Contains VIB packages, and image profiles for ESXi, including VMware Tools. Use the image profiles and the VIB packages with VMware Image Builder and VMware Auto Deploy to create custom image/ISO generation for ESXi deployments.
Hi all, My first post so apologies for not contributing to help others as yet, I do however intend to start doing so.
I have a 3 dell servers which I have inherited the responsibility to manage (I believe they are actually custom order 'cloud' systems based on 230 spec circa 2013/14). Each server has 96GB RAM, dual NIC, Xeon CPU and four 2TB drives in RAID 1 arrays on each controller. The servers run ESXi 5.5 with several guests on each which are relied upon quite heavily, so I would not want to do a fresh ESXi install on any.

I downloaded various VIB's for the PERC6/i controller but none seem to work- the storage section in vSphere client does not show any health status of the raid controller. I have tried various different versions etc but I am at a loss as to why nothing works; haven't had problems monitoring RAID status on other controllers in the past. Obviously it really is critical that they have some way to monitor the status of drives, as currently if a drive failed in either array there would be no way to tell without shutting down the host and checking bios..
Is have never installed a custom Dell ISO but I assume it is simply a build of ESXi with the addition of various Dell drivers for the given hardware. Is the only option to install a custom ESXi from Dell or is there a way to update the current ESXi with the relevant drivers? Or is there anywhere someon could recommend I look for the VIB's I need to monitor?
